Belarus Ambassador to China Rudy Kiryl and Vice Governor of Gansu Province Zhang Shizhen attend the opening ceremony, which is hosted by Xu Hongwei, Deputy Director of the Education Department of Gansu Province. Zhang Shizhen says in the speech, the establishment of“Gansu Institute of Belarus Research”, an initiative which serves the economic and social development of Gansu and Belarus, promotes the construction of “Belt and Road”and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, is of great significance on building a platform for China-Belarus educational cooperation and cultural exchanges and further promotion of the development of “Belt and Road”. He emphasizes, it is hoped that “Gansu Institute of Belarus Research” will actively carry out frontier research closely related to the construction of "Silk Road", strengthen cooperation, common action, resource integration, overall planning, strive to build an academic highland for the study of “Silk Road” and a think-tank which serves the construction of “Belt and Road”. “Gansu Institute of Belarus Research” is hoped to make more tangible achievements in education cooperation, promote the level of education and scientific research exchanges and cooperation between China and Belarus. Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics should give full play to the role of exchange and cooperation base between universities of the whole province and Belarus as well as the leading role, and constantly strengthen and enhance the level of cooperative scientific research with Belarusian universities.
Rudy Kiryl indicates in the speech, with the steady development of bilateral relations between China and Belarus, the educational cooperation between the two countries deepens. The establishment of “Gansu Institute of Belarus Research” will not only provide a valuable channel for exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the fields of talent training and academic research, but also build an important platform for the dissemination of the Belarusian language and culture in China.
Xu Hongwei points out when presiding over the ceremony, China- Belarus education cooperation is an important way to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's instruction that "the greatest opportunity for Gansu lies in ' Belt and Road'", which is of great significance for our province to improve the level of education opening, deeply integrate into and serve the construction of " Belt and Road", and strengthen the cultural and educational exchanges between China and Belarus. It is hoped that Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics will take the opening ceremony as an opportunity to build an academic highland for the study of the Silk Road between China and Belarus, a high-end platform for strategic discussion and consensus building, and build the Institute into an important think tank serving the " Belt and Road" construction in Belarus and Gansu Province, making greater contributions to the promotion of cultural exchanges and educational cooperation between China and belarus.

LUFE and Baranovichi State University sign a cooperation agreement of inter-university China-Belarus Research Center and present research materials to each other.
Before the ceremony, a welcome party is held for the meeting of Chinese and Belarusian guests. Our university and the Belarusian cooperation universities carry on the exchange discussion, both sides give each other exchange gifts. Besides, participants also visit the university library and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
More than 100 leaders of relevant schools (departments) and representatives of teachers and students of Belarus Baranovichi State University, Belarus State Economic University Aliaksei Bykau, Belarusian National Technical University, Tianshui Normal University, Hexi College, Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences and other Belarian and Chinese cooperation universities , as well as LUFE, attend the opening ceremony.
It is reported that during the opening activities, there will also be a China-Belarus Presidents' Forum, "Journey of LUFE Classes" for representatives of teachers and students from Belarus, China-Belarus Friendship Ambassadors Silk Road cultural training program and other exchange activities.
