From   September 17 to 20, "2019   University Alliance of Silk Road Series of Activities" is held in Xi'an Jiaotong University. As a member of the University Alliance of Silk Road, Vice President Li Wanhong is invited to attend such activities as the president forum and the working meeting of the Alliance.

The president forum takes "action, development, future" as the theme. More than 20 university leaders and experts from China, the United States,   Britain, New Zealand, Russia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Italy, France, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries and regions discuss about topics including"cooperation in higher education under the Belt and Road Initiative", "the role of universities in social development" "talents cultivation cooperation in higher education", and look forward to the future development of higher education in the world.

The University Alliance of Silk Road is an open international higher education cooperation platform, which is non-governmental and non-profit, formed by universities at home and abroad. In January 2015, Xi'an Jiaotong University officially launched the initiative of jointly building the University Alliance of Silk Road at home and abroad. On May 22, 2015, the University Alliance of Silk Road was formally established, and LUFE joined the Alliance in June 2019.
