Letme provide more details on your frequent asked questions.

 

Q1.What are my expected job position (Professor, Associate Professor etc.) andsalary?

A1.We generally provide overseas teachers with PhD degree treatment similar asprofessors in our university, with a salary of 10,000 RMB per month. Foroverseas teacher with Master degree, the salary would be 8,000 RMB as associateprofessor. And for overseas teacher with Bachelor degree, the salary would be5800-6000 RMB as lecturer. The weekly workload will be 12-16 hour. It maypromote with higher payment with long-term candidates and based on performanceand academic contribution, of course.

 

Q2Do you provide accommodation?

A2we provide free on-campus accommodation for all overseas teachers. Theindependent apartment is equipped with free internet, a computer and othernecessities.

 

Q3.Willthere be any health or life insurance provided?

A3.There will be an insurance covered by LUFE during your teaching stay in LUFE.The insurance will cover emergence and medical costs.

 

Q4.Whattype of visa I should apply for? Will it be a multi-entrance visa?

A4.The visa type you will apply is working visa. Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairsof our province would issue an invitation letter and we would send it to youremail address so you can use it to apply for visa in the nearest ChineseEmbassy in your country. When you come to LUFE, we would help you to apply aresidence permit which will allow you to multi-enter China.

 

Q5.Howmany round-trip international tickets (home country-China) will be coveredwithin a year?

A5.Basedon the one-year contract, LUFE will cover one round-trip international tickets,which is regulated by our Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs .

 

Q6.What do I need to prepare now?

A6.Thereare some application procedures for you to work in LUFE as a foreign scholar. Iam providing you a rough list for you to prepare at the moment:

(1).your highest degree which needs to be notarized by Chinese Consulate in yourcity

(2).non-criminal certificate which needs to be notarized by Chinese Consulate inyour city

(3).a reference letter from any of your working places

(4).CV in English and in Chinese( we will help with translation)

(5).an electronic HG photo >1.5 MB. The photo should be like passport photo,which is a front photo on white background.

(6).recent health certificate from the hospital recognized by the ChineseQuarantine and Inspection Service

(7).the scanned version of the front page of your passport. If there areaccompanying family members, please also send their scanned version of thefront page of passport.

Thedocuments (scanned copies) you are preparing should be sent by email tous  first to go through with the application procedures with ourProvincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs .When you come to China, pleasebring the original copy with you.

 

Q7.Can you give me a brief introduction of Lanzhou University of Finance andEconomics (LUFE) ?

A7.LanzhouUniversity of Finance and Economics (LUFE) was established in 1952 as a publichigher education institute and started the undergraduate programs in 1958. In2003, the university was authorized as Master's Degree granting university forpostgraduate education. In 2018, it was authorized to grant Doctor’s Degree.

 

LUFEenrolls students from all over China, while the number of full-timeundergraduate students is nearly 18,000, postgraduates about 1,100 and thecontinuing education students more than 4,300. LUFE employs over 1,300 facultyand staff members including 1,012 professional teachers, among whom there are485 professors and associate professors.

 

LUFEowns 17 schools including Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Business Management,Economics, International Economics and Trade, Information Engineering, Taxationand Public Administration, Law, Marxism, Business Media, Foreign Languages,Arts, Agriculture and Forestry Economic Management, International Education,Continuing Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship as well as PE EducationCenter.

 

LUFEconsistently attaches great importance and priority to its internationalizededucation and global cooperation. LUFE has extensively established widecooperative relationship with more than 30 international universities or highereducation institutions in U.K., France, U.S.A., Russia, Belarus, etc. LUFEenrolls international students and issues bachelor diplomas to the qualifiedgraduates. In October, 2015, LUFE attended University Alliance of Belt and Road,which is an unincorporated organization formed by the universities from thecountries and regions along “the Belt and Road” to reinforce coordination andintegration, upgrade educational levels among the universities and push forwardhumanities exchanges as well as the development and prosperity of the countriesand regions along “ the Belt and Road”. In September, 2017, LUFE attended China-CentralEastern European Countries (CEEC) Higher Education Institutions.

 

Q8.Can you give me a brief introduction of the city of Lanzhou ?

A8.Lanzhouis the capital and largest city of Gansu Province in Northwest China. Theprefecture-level city, located on the banks of the Yellow River, is a keyregional transportation hub, connecting areas further west by rail to theeastern half of the country. Historically, it has been a major link on theNorthern Silk Road. Lanzhou is situated in the temperate zone and enjoys asemi-arid climate with mild summers and cold and very dry winters. The monthly24-hour average temperature ranges from −5.3 °C (22.5 °F) in January to 22.4 °C(72.3 °F) in July.
